At STEAM Education, we understand that families join us from many different countries and school systems. To ensure a smooth transition, we provide a Grade Placement Guide that helps parents understand how international year groups compare with the Swedish and other national systems.

How Placement Works

• Age-appropriate placement – Students are generally placed according to their age on entry, following international standards.

• Academic background – We review past school reports, subjects studied, and curriculum alignment to ensure the best fit.

• Language readiness – For students new to English, we consider language skills to provide the right level of support.

• Individual needs – When necessary, we take into account previous learning support, additional educational needs, or acceleration.
