We are proud to announce the opening of Gothenburg International School (GIS) in Mölndals kommun, welcoming students aged 5–18 from August 2026.
Gothenburg International School will offer an education based on the internationally recognised International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, including the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP), subject to authorisation.
Our vision is to build an inspiring international school where academic excellence and personal growth go hand in hand. At GIS, children will be encouraged to think deeply, act with integrity, and develop the confidence to shape their own future.
The IB philosophy lies at the heart of our approach — nurturing curious, reflective, and internationally minded young people who are prepared not only for leading universities worldwide, but for meaningful lives in a global society.
A caring and close-knit international community
Highly qualified and passionate educators
Engaging, inquiry-based learning
A strong focus on character, leadership, and global citizenship
A seamless educational journey from early years through graduation
Our ambition is to create one of the most forward-thinking and respected international schools in the Gothenburg region — a place where children feel known, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential.
We look forward to welcoming families who share our belief in ambitious education within a warm and supportive community.
Further details regarding campus development, admissions, and information events will be shared in the coming months. Families are warmly invited to register their interest via the STEAM Education website.
Gothenburg International School is pursuing authorisation as an IB World School for the PYP, MYP, and DP. These programmes are offered by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). Only schools authorised by the IBO may offer any of its four academic programmes. Candidate status does not guarantee that authorisation will be granted.
